A change of generations on the Advisory Board of the HOYER Group
A third generation of the family undertakes responsibility on the Advisory Board of one of the world’s leading providers of logistics solutions to handle and transport liquid goods.

Hamburg, August 3, 2026 – The HOYER Group reaches another milestone in its 80-year company history: For the first time since the company was founded, third-generation family shareholders were appointed to the Advisory Board in July 2026, and are now taking up their positions.
It completes the second transfer between generations in the history of this globally operating company: Walter Hoyer guided the fortunes of the family business for over 45 years, and Thomas Hoyer for more than 35 years. The handover is the outcome of a long-prepared generational change, while continuing the company's strategic alignment at the same time. Representatives of the second generation, former members Thomas R. J. Hoyer and Martina Hoyer-Hertel, continue to support the Advisory Board in a consultative role.
As part of the new team composition, Thomas R. J. Hoyer hands over the Advisory Board Chair to Hans-Georg Frey. For the first time, the Board’s Chair is now taken by one of the external Advisory Board experts. Frey, formerly Chairman of the Executive Board and Supervisory Board of Jungheinrich, has been a member of the HOYER Group's Advisory Board for nine years and previously served as its Vice Chairman. In addition to Frey, the Advisory Board includes other distinguished external industry experts: Michael Ziesemer, former COO of Endress+Hauser and Vice President of its Board of Directors, and Hans-Christian Sievers, formerly the CEO of HELM AG. The new third-generation members bring complementary strengths to the table: Nikola Dieterich has soundly based expertise in business administration, tax law, and governance, while Nikolaus Glasmacher drives forward in particular the further development of business models, digitalization, innovation, and growth. Collectively, the Board brings together many years of management experience, technological expertise, and entrepreneurial farsightedness.
“This step is the logical continuation of a path we, as a family-owned business, have followed for decades,” says Thomas R. J. Hoyer, formerly Advisory Board Chairman of the HOYER Group. “We think and act on a multi-generational timescale. Change has always been the foundation of our continued growth.”
In this respect, the HOYER Group's strategic alignment remains unchanged. “For us, the focus is still on consistently meeting our customers' needs, further developing our global network, and achieving operational excellence,” says Björn Schniederkötter, Chief Executive Officer of the HOYER Group. “We set ambitious goals to confront the present market challenges, to give our customers even greater support in ensuring the resilience of their supply chains — and to achieve forward-looking logistics.”
As an independent, family-owned business, HOYER is committed to long-term responsibility toward its customers, partners, and employees. The generational change on the Advisory Board underscores this commitment and lays the foundation for the company’s continued successful development.
