Swiss precision leads to success

HOYER achieves an outstanding result in the SQAS assessment

Hamburg, 4 May 2016 – The Hamburg logistics company HOYER received 97 per cent in this year’s performance assessment in accordance with the Safety and Quality Assessment System (SQAS) at its location in Switzerland. This is the best result ever achieved so far by the HOYER Group in an external audit.

Every three years, the independent accreditation company DQS audits each of HOYER’s European sites with regard to safe working. This includes in particular the integrity of the business operations and systems. The logistics company’s Chemilog business unit has achieved steady improvement in the SHEQ area (safety, health, environment, quality) in the past few years. Pragmatic solutions are developed every day to further improve the safety of the chemicals transport operations.

Thus HOYER Switzerland, in close collaboration with the Chemilog business unit’s SHEQ management, has succeeded in surpassing even further the SQAS assessment result of 93 per cent in 2013. Wolfgang Engel, SQAS assessor for the DQS GmbH, says “The outstandingly good result achieved by HOYER Switzerland shows that focusing on continuous quality and process improvements as a permanent component of daily business pays dividends. The corresponding logical consequence is that the team was able to increase the score yet again, and achieved 97 per cent, which is the best result I have ever been able to award.”

The HOYER Group has worked for many years to create a strong awareness of safety throughout the whole company. HOYER Switzerland’s successful score proves that these comprehensive SHEQ measures are bearing fruit. Consequently, HOYER will hold fast to the sustained improvement in its own safety, health, environment and quality standards in the future as well.
