HOYER opens St. Petersburg branch

Hamburg logistics specialist positions for expansion in East

Hamburg – March 1st, 2012 – HOYER continues to expand in Russia. After successfully opening offices in Moscow and Odessa, the logistics service provider headquartered in Hamburg has now set up a branch in St. Petersburg.

HOYER’s growth in Russia has been particularly strong. “St. Petersburg, a major transport hub for sea, inland waterway and rail traffic, is an ideal new location for us,” explains Axel Brewe, head of development for Russia and Eastern Europe at HOYER.  “The business opportunities here, notably for development of intermodal transport, are really excellent.”

In addition to building up new routes via this major Baltic Sea city, the St. Petersburg office will also act as the local contact for the many HOYER customers in the region. “We will continue to offer customers our globally uniform high standards of quality in future from here too,” adds Brewe.

Hand in hand with establishment of the St. Petersburg branch, a new vehicle fleet is being set up. HOYER is investing in modern truck, container and tipping chassis to be used throughout Russia. The fleet is to be built up on a continuing basis.

The new HOYER branch will offer the group’s entire portfolio and network from day one: all-round transport and logistics services for chemicals, petroleum and foodstuffs, as well as rental of small intermediate bulk containers.

Manager of the branch is economist Nina Kononova (32). She spent the past seven years working as an executive for a St. Petersburg forwarder.

HOYER has been present in Central and Eastern Europe for more than a quarter of a century. In addition to its offices in Moscow and Odessa, it also has a branch in Klaipeda.
