HOYER Group wins new business in aviation fuel supply

Petrolog business unit reports positive development

Hamburg, 2 October 2018 – The HOYER Group’s business unit Petrolog is one of the leading transport and logistics services providers for the mineral oil industry in ten European countries. This includes making jet fuel deliveries to airports and also directly into aircraft. HOYER is reporting positive business developments in this segment through the signing of new contracts with Air BP and WFS (World Fuel Services) in the United Kingdom as well as with TOTAL Deutschland GmbH in Germany, and is extending the contract in Ireland with Valero Energy at Dublin airport.

In 2018, the Business Unit Petrolog was awarded a contract with Air BP for fuel deliveries to 96 airports throughout the UK. HOYER undertakes the whole of Air BP’s delivery logistics, including monitoring of stocks, generating and receiving orders, and delivery. WFS (World Fuel Services) has signed a three-year contract to supply four airports across the North of the UK. Furthermore, the Business Unit Petrolog has been supplying aviation fuel daily to Berlin Tegel Airport in Germany on behalf of TOTAL Deutschland GmbH since late August 2018.

Mark Binns, Director of the Business Unit Petrolog, says “We are very pleased to be able to add new business that further extends our relationship with long-standing customers.” The logistics company has been responsible for deliveries to service station networks of BP and TOTAL for many years, and WFS more recently. Binns explains, “Expansion of our involvement in aviation fuel supply is an important strategic step for Petrolog.” Based on its expertise and the high quality of service, HOYER has established itself as a reliable partner for international mineral oil groups. Valero Energy has also decided to again extend the aircraft refuelling contract with HOYER that has existed since 2000. The Petrolog business unit will continue to undertake refuelling of aircraft at Dublin airport until the end of 2020.

The HOYER Group’s business unit Chemilog also helps to ensure smooth air traffic. During the winter months, this business unit not only supplies several airports with de-icing agents for runways, but the division also covers almost the entire Europe-wide logistics for a leading manufacturer of aircraft de-icing agents. Due to the unpredictable and often short-term demand, HOYER offers a 24/7 on-call service and thus guarantees delivery times within a few hours.
