HOYER appoints two new Advisory Board members
Impulses for digitisation and Industry 4.0
Hamburg, 17 January 2017 – The logistics specialist HOYER, based in Hamburg, has appointed two new members to its Advisory Board. Hans-Georg Frey, Chairman of the Board of Management of the intra-logistics company Jungheinrich, and Michael Ziesemer, Vice President of the Supervisory Board of Endress+Hauser, President of the Association of German Electrical and Electronics Industry (ZVEI) and Vice President of the Federal Association of German Industry (BDI), joined the Board at the beginning of 2017.
In total, the Advisory Board of the HOYER Group now consists of six members: the Chairman Thomas Hoyer, Martina Hoyer-Hertel, Dr. Uwe Franke, Dr. Rolf Stomberg, Hans-Georg Frey and Michael Ziesemer. This means that the Advisory Board now consists of two shareholders and four external advisors. In accordance with the family charter the majority of the Advisory Board must always be non-family members. "The Advisory Board is very strategically important for us", says Thomas Hoyer. "We are therefore pleased about the new members, and we hope that they will provide a strong impulse in the field of future issues such as digitisation and Industry 4.0, amongst others."
The members of the Advisory Board keep a keen eye on worldwide developments in order to identify new trends at an early stage. They observe the competitive environment, and examine changes in the commercial field in order to establish whether they can lead to innovation or improvements in efficiency. The Advisory Board makes recommendations at regular meetings with the shareholders and the Management, and is available to provide expert advice on various issues. The shared aim is to pursue appropriate company objectives and to formulate strategies for achieving them. In addition, the Advisory Board is an independent body that oversees financial planning, the investment volume and human resources policy. Any decisions that go beyond the day-to-day operation of the HOYER Group generally require the approval of the Advisory Board.
